Responsibilities
• Maintain journals and ledgers and ensure accuracy of general ledger accounts.
• Analyze and report on various financial measures of company operations.
• Support year-end processes including preparation of workpapers and schedules.
• Set and maintain standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead.
• Ensure accuracy of BOM costs.
• Calculate and explain cost variances.
• Calculate margins by product.
• Maintain inventory costing.
• Estimate cost of new products for pricing purposes.
Qualifications
• Knowledge and experience in the following areas:
• General ledger accounting
• Full accounting cycle
• Cost accounting in a standard cost manufacturing environment
• High-volume processing of accounting transactions in a manufacturing environment
• Previous experience working with outside auditors on yearend review/audit and tax return preparation.
• Ability to analyze a wide variety of financial and operational measures.
• Proficiency using an advanced ERP system, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact with internal departments and outside organizations to inform and resolve issues.
• Ability to work remotely at home when required.
• Having an understanding of payroll, benefits, taxes, insurance, and contracts is a plus.
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or in business with emphasis in accounting, or equivalent experience.
• At least ten years of diverse accounting experience performing the stated skills in a manufacturing environment using the standard cost method.
• Broad knowledge of manufacturing accounting theory and principles.
